Chemistry, Pre-Medicine/Pre-Dentistry, BSThe Mission of the Department of Chemistry is to provide students with a strong background in the concepts and theories of chemistry, and to equip them with problem-solving and critical thinking skills in preparation for pursuing advanced degrees and careers in chemistry and chemistry-related areas. The department is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and every program is certified by the ACS. The chemistry faculty has developed a program to meet the needs of undergraduate students who desire to pursue research careers, graduate studies in chemistry or studies toward careers in medicine or dentistry. The Bachelor of Science (Pre-Medicine/Pre-Dentistry) is designed for students who plan careers in medicine or dentistry. No chemistry course with a grade below “C” will be accepted as credit toward a major or minor in chemistry.
