SYP 3540 Sociology Of Law

This Course Will Introduce Students To Landmark Court Cases That Have Had A Major Impact On Our Society. We Will Focus On How The Law And These Cases Have Served As Instruments Of Social Change For Our Major Social Institutions: Family, Education, Religion, Health, Economics And Politics. We Will Examine American Law From A Sociological Perspective. Areas To Be Covered Include Reproductive Rights And The Family: Bioethics And End Of Life; Affirmative Action , Education And The Fourthteen Amendment; First Amendment Rights, Religion, And Students Rights And Fourth Amendment Privacy And Search And Seizure
