DEP 6105 Adv Child Dev


This Course Will Provide An Overview Of The Psychological Development Of Children From Birth Through Adolescence Using A Multicultural, Ecological Perspective. We Will Explore The Typical Milestones In Children’s Growth And Development As Well As Factors (both Biological And Environmental) That Alter Expected Patterns And/or Contribute To Maladaptive Outcomes. Special Attention Will Be Given To How Recent Changes In Our Society (e.g. An Increase In Single Parent Families, Greater Numbers Of Working Mothers) Impact Children’s Development. Additionally, Issues And Problems Relevant To The Study And Practice Of School Psychology Will Be Highlighted
