NUR 4985 Patient Education (3) THIS COURSE WILL TEACH LEARNERS THE CONCEPTS OF EDUCATING CLIENTS OF DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND IN VARIOUS STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT. IT WILL EMPHASIZE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS TO ASSESS CLIENTS¿ LEARNING NEEDS, TEACH AND EVALUATE BARRIERS BEHAVIORAL CHANGES AND LEARNING OUTCOMES. STUDENTS WILL GAIN EXPERIENCE IN EVALUATING AND DESIGN PATIENT EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS. THE COURSE HIGHLIGHTS THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PEDAGOGY AND ANDRAGOGY, ALONG WITH THE RELEVANCE TO TEACHING APPROACHES. Prerequisite: ASSOCIATE OR DIPLOMA WITH REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE.
