POS 1921 Introduction to Professional Development I (1) THIS COURSE PREPARES STUDENTS WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO SUCCEED IN THE WORKPLACE AFTER GRADUATION. EMPHASIS WILL BE PLACED ON BECOMING FAMILIAR WITH THE VARIOUS INDUSTRIES, AGENCIES, AND JURISDICTIONS THAT VALUE DEGREES IN POLITICAL SCIENCE, INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, AND PRE-LAW. STUDENTS WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE VAST BODY OF POLITICAL SCIENCE LITERATURE, DEVELOP TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS, AND ALSO LEARN PRACTICAL SKILLS SUCH AS HOW TO WRITE A STRONG RESUME, AND NAVIGATING THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD OF INTERVIEWS AND NETWORKING.
