The broadcast journalism program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in broadcast journalism. Students who complete this sequence will be prepared to assume positions as television news reporter, associate producer, producer, and videographer.

Freshman Year

*Student must earn at least a B and a C in ENC 1101  and ENC 1102 . Student who fails to meet this requirement must earn a B or better in ENC 2300 Improving Writing Competency .
** Alternate - HUM 2230 HISTORICAL SURVEY II .
***Alternates - SPC 1608/ SPC 2608 Public Speaking (3)  or SPC 1050 Foundation of Speech or SPC 1050 Foundations of Speech (3) .
****Alternate - AFA 2100 THE AFRICAN AMERICAN EXPERIENCE .

Students must earn at least a “C” grade in all core courses and respective sequence courses. No course can count more than once to satisfy degree requirement
