Electrical and Computer Engineering, BS-MS


The degree requirements for the BS-MS program are as follows:

Common Required Courses for Bachelor of Science Degrees and Dual Majors


All candidates for bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) and bachelor of science degree in computer engineering (BSCpE) are required to complete a total of one hundred (100) semester hours of common required courses, of which twenty-four (24) hours are English, social science and humanities courses (General Studies Courses), forty-two (42) hours are engineering core courses (listed below), and thirty-four (34) hours are required electrical and computer engineering courses (listed below).

STA 3032  may be used to satisfy either the 5th math option or a technical elective requirement.

Spring Semester


Registering for Graduate Courses


To register for a graduate course students must complete a Request to Take Graduate Courses form. The form is available in the Registrar’s Office. The form must be submitted to the university no later than the third day of classes. Students must earn a ‘B’ grade or better in each graduate level course taken.

Admission to the Graduate Program


BS-MS students must apply for admission to the graduate program. The application is available online. Students must apply for the summer term. Applications are due March 1. Letters of recommendation are not required for BS-MS students. However students should submit all other required documents.

GRE


The Revised GRE is required for admission to graduate program. BS-MS students should take the GRE no later than February 15 to meet the March 1 application deadline.

Graduate Curriculum


All BS-MS students must take the following distribution of courses for a total of thirty-three (33) credit hours. Six (6) of the thirty-three (33) credit hours must be taken during the senior year of the student’s BS degree program. The remaining twenty-seven (27) credit hours are taken as part of the MS program.
