Public Relations Minor

FAMU students may minor in journalism, graphic design, or public relations by successfully completing 18 hours.

Each student must complete 11 of the 18 required hours in the following courses:

MMC 2000 Introduction To Mass Media (3)
JOU 3110 Use Of Information Resources (2)
MMC 2100 Mass Media Methods (3)
JOU 3101

Note:

Other hours toward the journalism minor will be planned by the student with the consent of the faculty/academic advisor. Some prerequisites may be waived at the discretion of the Dean. Students must discuss their minor programs with an advisor before embarking on programs. Students electing a minor must type at least 40 words per minute (85 percent accuracy) and be proficient in grammar and spelling.
