Requirements for a Major
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts requires a foreign language (12 hours) prepares students to pursue advanced degrees in art history and art criticism. The Bachelor of Science degree allows for more studio work to prepare students for professional careers and / or graduate school. All Fine Arts majors are required to have a formal exhibition of creative work in their last semester of residence. Students are expected to work closely with their advisor and the exhibition committee to fulfill this requirement.
First Semester
- Humanities Elective (3)
- Natural Science Elective (3)
- ARH 2050 Art History I (3)
- Visual Arts Electives (6) (Student can select any combination of ART, ARC, GRA, or PGY Course Prefixes)
Second Semester
- Advanced Art Coursework Electives (9) (Courses that are 3000 or 4000 level only)
- Minor Electives (6)
Requirements for a Minor
All Fine Arts majors must declare a minor field of study outside of the Visual Arts Program. Fine Arts majors may choose to minor in Humanities, Graphic Design, Business Administration, or any other related field.
